Hydrogen
Hydrogen is the most abundant element
on Earth. Today, we've got about 200
hydrogen vehicles in the United States. Most
of them are buses and automobiles, powered
by electric motors, producing little or no
pollution.
There are three main reasons to
use hydrogen: Reducing our dependence on
imported fuels, improving the environment,
and growing the economy. We want to
obviously reduce our fuel imports and
concentrate on meeting our energy needs by
using local resources. With hydrogen, you
can do that because you can make hydrogen
from a variety of different resources. It's
great for the environment because when you
use it in vehicles, there are no carbon
emissions.
